170What is the Paint Technician National Accreditation?What is aging paint?shortlongIt is a national certification granted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan to certify that the applicant possesses sufficient skills and abilities in painting.Daikan invests an immense amount of time and resources on independent training and classroom learning in preparation for the certification exam. Twenty-three staff members have passed both the "academic" and "practical" exams and are now working as professional painting technicians.The term "aging" holds various meanings, such as "growing old" and "maturing," but essentially it refers to the passage of time.Daikan Material Paint's aging paint is an art technique leveraged in theme parks and movie sets, where facades and props are intentionally made to appear aged or weathered.The first-class painting certification exam has strict eligibility criterion that requires a minimum of 7 years’ working experience, alongside a tough pass rate of only 50%. At Daikan, we have 13 first-class certified technicians who stand at the forefront to uphold and progress our high quality and artistry (as of June 2022).The key aim is to reproduce deterioration, such as fading, rusting, or sun-bleaching, that comes with the passing of time. To capture and create, with paint, a sense of “reality” as if the product has “lived” through the ages. This painting technique requires imagination and experience in the pursuit of reality.
