Environmental Declaration

The DAIKAN Group, under the slogan “Value Creation for Your Smile,” hereby declares our commitment to protecting the environment through all our business activities and to contributing to the local community to leave a healthy and beautiful global environment in which future generations can live with smiles.

Fundamental Policy

01Promotion of sustainable energy and efficient energy use

We use CO2-free electricity generated from renewable energy sources (adopting Kansai Electric Power’s renewable energy eco plan). Since 2022, all electricity used at our headquarters and second factory is CO2 free. We have changed from using fluorescent lights to LED lights at our head office.
To enhance heat insulation and the energy efficiency at our head office, we have installed heat-insulating sheets to the windows.

02Contributing to a recycling-oriented society with eco-friendly sign materials

We have started an initiative to reduce the use of plastics and have developed ecological signs. The Shell Plate is made from 50.5% scallop shells, of which 200,000 tons are usually discarded annually. It is the first sign material to receive the “Biomass Mark Certification.”

03Packaging that is gentle on the products and the environment

We actively use packaging materials with a low environmental impact.

04Gratitude towards our uniforms even after use

We are participating in the “BRING Project,” which recycles polyester fibers contained in used uniforms. Last year, we collected 112 kg of uniforms from employees.

Moving forward, we will avoid having excess inventory when ordering new uniforms and instead promote the BRING for used uniforms, thereby contributing to a recycle-oriented society.

05Reuse of paint thinner

We reuse the paint thinner used to cleaning the cup guns used in painting operations. Of approximately 3,700 kg of thinner used, 57.2% (as of 2023) were recycled.

06Active participation in community activities

We sponsor various events held at local shrines including the Setsubun (a traditional festival to ward off evil and invite good fortune) and Summer Festivals.

We set up a photo booth to create memories at the fireworks festival organized by the Taisho Ward Community Association.
We also held a workshop to create original acrylic stands to support a children’s event at a shopping center in Taisho Ward.
We host factory tours for schools (about three times a year) and offer job experience opportunities to local junior high schools (two students annually).
